HAPPY MOTHERING

"He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!" Psalm 113:9

Dear One,

Children are gifts given to us by god to love and train up and then let go. We receive so much in return for our mothering. Before your baby is even born you will experience the wonder of feeling him stretching and growing and getting comfortable in the safety of your womb.

When you first see this brand new tiny person, you will soon forget morning sickness and labor pains. Your new baby will need much love and care. You will be rewarded for this care by a tiny hand holding your finger, trusting eyes watching you, and lips smiling at the sound of your voice. As your baby grows, you will be rewarded with first teeth, first steps, and first words.

Almost before you know it, your baby will be ready for kindergarten... sixth grade... high school. You will share memories of birthday parties, Christmas programs, and homework.

Your baby will become an adult as you watch and guide and love. I know because the four babies God gave me are now grown. I praise Him for the privilege He gave me to be a "happy mother of children." This is my prayer for you.
