 A popular song says, "Love, love, love, all you need is love." However, the modern definition of love is so broad that it has become meaningless. Many times, it is merely a syrupy sentimentalism produced by an endorphin-based stupor or simply a word that is said when real true love is not what is meant.
Real love is the kind of love that sees you through thick and thin. Real love is the kind that is steadfast and strong, not some weak feeling that comes and goes like the wind.
God's love is real love. When He places His love upon someone and starts to draw him or her to Himself, there is no stopping Him. That kind of love will see you through a lifetime of trials and tragedies, great joys and extreme sorrows. That kind of love is permanent and eternal—enduring not only through life, but also through all of time and beyond.
One of the great fallacies that we have allowed in our day is Hollywood and pop music's equating sex with love. They are not the same. God's love is what we are to represent as we witness to those whom He brings to our doorstep. God's love is what they need to go on and to make it through all of life. May we understand and well represent our Savior and His great love manifested in His death on Calvary.
