Front & Center: A Message from the Publisher

by Jerry Thacker

Well, one year has passed since we started At the Center magazine. And what an exciting time it has been! From a distribution of zero, we are now printing and distributing more than 30,000 copies of ATC each quarter. Your positive comments and nearly continuous input have helped us stay right on target with the copy, graphics, and guest writers.

But we've only just begun...

There are so many things we want to do with ATC and with www.atcmag.com. Right now, we're pursuing funding for a daily radio spot program. I believe we can help inform God's people about your work by getting these spots placed on more than 300 stations daily. Pray that the needed funding will come in. I believe ATC On The Air could help fertilize the ground for support, volunteers, and a better understanding of what CPC/PCC ministries are all about.

We want to put together a resources-finding group that helps us gather the largesse of our economy and appropriate it to your work. Finding the right "professional scrounge" and funding for it is all it will take.

Thanks for your kind comments and your readership of ATC. Our goal is simply to serve, encourage, educate, and help your ministry. May God allow us to continue and to expand.

Recently a verse came to me that I think all of us involved in Christian ministry should be praying. It's found in I Chronicles 4:9 in the middle of a list of rather boring genealogies. It's a prayer of a man named Jabez. Apparently, God thought enough of his prayer to include it in the pages of Holy Scripture. It goes like this, "And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain."

Personally, I can think of no better prayer for At the Center or for every center we serve.
