It seems that the liberal, pro-death media have been more shrill this year than in times past. I personally believe it is because they know they are losing the battle for the hearts and minds of the American people.
Still, I find it interesting that many churches do not give support to those who are being salt and light in the CPC/PCC movement because they fear the loss of their tax-exempt status or because they simply don't know what to do to present an effective message. It is incumbent on CPC/PCC leaders to provide leadership not only for their centers and volunteers, but also for local churches who will support pro-life efforts.
In this issue, we talk about how you can help pastors get their congregations involved. But there's much more. We broaden our educational spectrum to discuss caring for male volunteersa new addition to most centersas well as how to counsel HIV-serodiscordant couples. If you haven't had this counseling challenge occur at your center yet, you probably will in the not-too-distant future. You'll find some good ideas for extending your evangelistic reach into your clients' families in the article on HOPE baby dedications. We also address the matter of setting priorities for fundraising and how to maximize your potential with top donors. Speaking of fundraising, make sure you take a look at the article on the Community Reinvestment Act. And there's an article that may be just for you. It's about biblical family formation.
As always, we welcome your comments about the contents and about how we may make At the Center a better publication to serve your needs. Feel free to write me at jerry@rightideas.us. I always write back!
