Magnetic Ovals

By Jerry Thacker

When I'm driving down the road, I try to notice bumper stickers and magnetic ovals on cars. Some contain messages that are cute. Some say things that are best left unsaid. But some are interesting to read because I find myself looking at the individual in the car when I pass them and trying to imagine the message belonging to that person.

Statistics tell us that about 30 percent of people will put a bumper sticker on their car. I'm in the other 70 percent. I don't like to see a piece of faded paper that has lost its message and left a sticky mess on my car. However, I have put magnetic car ovals on my car with the rationale that I can take them off anytime with no mess.

A recent trend is to put international country ovals, and even state ovals, on cars and trucks. For a cost of less than $1 each, you can make car ovals available to your supporters. You probably could even get a $3 to $5 contribution in the process (that's what pre-printed affinity ovals cost in the stores).

Consider putting a pro-life message on an oval car sign and watch the reactions you get from others. I suggest you keep the message very simple since it must be read quickly. Keep in mind that black type on white or black type on yellow has the best readability. Try to limit your message to seven words. Don't forget to include your phone number.
