Marketing 101: Different Strokes for Different Folks

Keeping in touch with those who come through your door is something that doesn't have to be difficult. One way to maintain a better connection with clients, volunteers, board members, and friends is by planning the type and frequency of your messages.

Utilize a communications preference capture mechanism the first time you make contact with any of the stakeholders that touch your ministry. A simple form like the one shown below can help you. People are much more likely to read and respond to what you send them if you utilize the communications modalities with which they are involved. Don't assume that EVERYONE texts, emails, wants a voice phone call, or goes to Facebook or any other particular website. There is an ever-increasing number of ways members of our society are keeping in touch. Make sure you reflect personal preferences when you send out your important messages.
